Angelina’s Senior Portraits

Every shoot has a backstory, and this one is definitely memorable. Angelina picked out a location that she knew she loved and was special to her. I picked her up, plugged the location into my gps and off we went! To the wrong location. We had at least another half hour to drive before we arrived. Luckily we got there just in time for some glowy mid-afternoon light (the pictures with the cactus). Looking over the side of the mountain was a beautiful oasis with flowing water! This is a spot that I would have never known about otherwise, so I am glad Angelina was able to find it and wanted to come back. Who knew Arizona had blue rock, sand, WATER, and trees that looked straight out of Narnia!

The only problem was it was an actual hike to get down there, and light was fading fast. Most of these pictures were taken in very dark shade, but we made it work! We passed a bunch of people who were leaving as we made our way in, they probably realized we had no idea what we were in for!

Angelina, thanks for making this shoot an adventure! Being your friend these past five years has been nothing short of one. I can’t wait to see what good you accomplish in the years to come, the world needs more people like you in it.

PS. this girl deserves an award for hiking up the side of a mountain in a skirt, in the dark, without complaining once!
