The Ghasters

A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege of spending some time with Kirsten and Brad and their sweet horse Jack. Of course they were amazing in front of the camera, but what made this shoot so special was the story behind it.

If you book a shoot with me, you’ll probably also get to meet my mom. She’s a professional ear-perker, and if it wasn’t for her, nearly every person would still have their phone in their pocket for their photos. After this shoot, as soon as we got in the car, she couldn’t wait to tell me all about their story. My mom chatted with whoever wasn’t in front of the camera at the moment, or handling Jack, so she was able to fill in the parts that I hadn’t picked up while I was shooting.

After going through some tough times, Brad purchased Jackhammer as a surprise for Kirsten from the horse rescue she became involved with. Best husband ever, right?! Jackhammer was very personable and did so well standing for a photoshoot after having several days off. Good boy!

Kirsten and Brad, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to take your pictures. The way you treat Jackhammer is evidence of what kind people you are. Knowing how much Jackhammer means to you made your session that much more special for me to photograph.
